My understanding is carb. pressure shouldn't be more than 5 lbs.,is that correct ? Is the vapor separator and fuel return line necessary ? Does the return line act like a pressure relief valve for the pump ? Thanks...

5 LB for 6PK and 6-8 LB for 2 and 4 BBL is the norm. but it's volume as another factor. That being said I've run just a regular parts store fuel pump on a sixpack and it worked fine for years. The vapor separator is just that and unless you have heat issues isn't always needed. (Again I've run without for years even in Florida .)
