I've replaced the pinion seal in my old 8 3/4 rear end that had the crush sleeve.  I've never had to work on a Dana 60 till now with my new car.  Does the Dana 60 rear axle get a crush sleeve like the 8 3/4 with the 489 casing or does it have shims like the 741 / 742 casings do?

No crush sleeve in a Dana 60, treat it just like the 741 and 742.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
