How do find out more about Super Chief? Where did his cars end up?

the car was the Imperial Customs piece prior to Super Chief. It then became the LA Hooker. After the LA Hooker, the body was sold to the McCracken brothers and became the Sundancer, who ran it  on their home built chassis.

the newer charger body was crashed hard, and that was the end of the Super Chief. The crash was caught on film (see end of video clip above), and is shown in the movie Funny Car Summer.

Pretty wild how often these things changed hands. Pretty sad there isn't more interest in race history.

The chargers were so cool, especially when most teams were running smaller A and E bodies

6.70's were the norm around 1970

i saw somewhere that top engine builders were getting around 1800 hp then

That is SUPER COOL! If I only knew I'd live to be 172 years old, I would actually want to acquire that Charger body! Too many projects already!  :eek2:
