I am looking for someone who has the original Noise suppressor on their six barrel Superbird.
I would like to know the part number on the end opposite of the wire lead and the color of that wire also?
I have attached a picture of one that I have that may or may not be correct?
Thanks! MJ

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Sorry MJ.  I cannot attach a pic.  Here are the numbers on my six bbl suppressor.   2884869   648   It has a black wire.  Hope this helps.

Graybo,
Thanks for the reply!
Information from original cars and parts always help!
I now have the correct part number and color of the wire lead to look for.
I have one used one with the wrong part number and wrong color wire for now.
I figure it's better than not having one at all.
Thanks! MJ

Well, I have kept looking for a 2884869 noise suppressor and finally found a nice used one!
It has the original black wire and original terminal end.
My first picture is an overall view and the second shows the end with the part number and vendor code.

John - was the noise suppressor used on all 70 440-6 cars?  if so, can you show a picture or two of the mounting?  Thanks!  Joe

Definitely not used if the car was ordered without a radio.
I'll check mine as well.
Here it is on my 69-1/2.
The "tang" slides under the coil mounting bracket nut.
I'll try and get a better pic of that area.

Joe,
Jim got up early today and beat me to the answers!
I have not installed mine on the Superbird yet.
But now I know which side of the coil to install it.
Thanks for the info and pictures of your originals Jim!

P.S. I think all cars with radios got these.

Joe,
I have added pictures of the noise suppressor installed on our Superbird over on that cars restoration post.
