When we restored our Daytona we were lucky to find a pair of NOS hood bumpers.
The originals on the Daytona had the following molded into them "FK" followed by the part number 2276804 then the Chrysler "DCPD" logo.
I have attached a picture of one.
My question for the Superbird owners with original hood bumpers are they the same as the Daytona's or are they the newer style with the pentastar?
I know if they were adjusted properly all the logo would be worn off!
Looking forward to some original Superbird hood bumpers!

I'll have a look at mine and report John.

Thanks Jim and Wayne!
I was hoping someone would respond before the topic fell off the first page!
I have attached a pair of NOS hood bumpers I have here.
The same 2276804 part number as the rest and a vendor code of 74679 the same as Waynes.
We will have to see if Jim's originals have details that we can read and not worn out.

So yesterday we made the 3 hour trip to attend the Daytona Superbird Auto Club summer picnic.
It was our first time that we were able to attend this gathering.
I brought my camera along just in case there were some original Superbirds with details that I have been investigating.
I got lucky as there were 3 long term original type cars with one being a one owner bought new car!
So I have attached some pictures of original hood bumpers.
The first 2 will be hard for you to make out but the last one tells the story.
All of the original bumpers do not have the pentastar molded into them!

Hi John
Here are mine.....
Thanks Jim!
You always come through with the original details for the rest of us!
Yours are the first originals where the "FK" is after the part number?
Here we go again with different suppliers or time frames.

You are welcome Troy!
I hope these topics and examples stay around for a while so others can benefit while we have some original examples left!
I have attached a couple of pictures of the hood bumpers we installed on the Superbird.

Now, are there subtle differences in vendors? I mean, you could have a bumper with the correct part number, but the other font/lettering be slightly different? Also, differences in assembly line NOS versus over-the-parts-counter NOS..

I'm going to guess that FK is the vendor code. The other numbers? Maybe a mold/core number ....and possibly a date?
Maybe we should check other rubber bumpers/plugs to see id FK shows up.....just for something to do

Winter isn't up there now, so you should have plenty to do to get out of the chicken-coop called a house.......
