Hey Guys,

Feel like I should reintroduce my self. Long time member back from the dead. 36 now started on this forum when 17, long gap in between with several name changes along the way. After my parents let me make a horrible decision to buy this car when I was 17, and taking it along with me doing a lot of the stupid stuff a kid does, I've been debating what to do with it now that I'm old enough to be smarter with it. Car has sat for a LONG time, and I just got it running because I've contemplating selling it. But I know I'll likely be disappointed in what I'd get for it. Wife also thinks I'm stupid to sell it but won't stop me. I've been spending sometime thinking about it and making a list of all the things I would like so I can get an Idea of cost. Of course I'm well aware at how these things snowball so an estimate is easily able to double once you get into it.

I've created a spreadsheet to kind of log what I can expect which is below if anyone cares to review it and point out anything I may of missed. Granted you all don't know the car but hey, sometimes there is something you glaringly miss.

It's a 71 SE with a 440, 8 3/4 with 3.91's. Originally a 318 car I think. Don't remember off the top of my head. I know a lot of the stuff on the list isn't required, but the plan would be to do it over several years so I can just buy it as I go along and do it if I decide that's what I want to do.

First step would be for me to strip it to a rolling chassis and deliver it to what shop I so choose to do the paint and body work. I've visited a few in my area (http://www.boothillauto.ca/ http://hotnightshotrods.com/) that have done some nice work to discuss the project and get an Idea. Sucks because its one of those things that until you start stripping you don't know what you're going to get so its impossible to quote. But ball parks I've been given for a car with solid metal (which I'm pretty confident mine is because I had it stripped to the metal as a kid and painted) has been anywhere between 20-30k CAD. Curious if anyone in Ontario used a particular shop they would recommend that does the rotisserie style full media blast and paint restoration?

Nice, where in Ontario?

How far along is your project?

Attached are 4 photos. 3 recent after clearing stuff off the car and 1 over 10 years old after fresh paint.

Why mess with the paint. Looks good to me.
Maybe add a 71 r/t stripe ?

Well it's definitely showing its age and gotten banged up while sitting for so long.

I think I just want it to be one of those cars where everything is done if that makes sense? Always tired of one thing after another.

Great looking car, would like to watch as you progress. Agreed, always little things that need doing.
