What does an original master cylinder for a 69 Charger look like ??

Google shows me 10 different pictures of all different ones

I broke down and ordered a rebuilt master cylinder from NAPA and do not want to take back my core if it is the original
My car is power 4 wheel drum

Here's what my believed to be original 4-wheel power drum master cylinder looks like. I believe the drum cylinders have the bolt-on reservoir cap and the disc have the spring rod.

Is your car a 70 with that type of booster ?

My booster is the other type

Nope '69 with power drums all around. The drum booster should have a band clamp all the way around and look like this (same as mine):

The disc booster would look like this:

I can get some better pics this afternoon if that would be helpful.

My car and a booster I got with some 70 stuff
My car is built Aug 1968 so it might be 68 stuff
In this picture I have already changed the master cylinder

This is the master cylinder I took off my car and just wondering if it is the original and I might just keep it around instead of returning it for the core deposit

Last picture is the one that came on my car and the one on the left is from my spare brake booster

So what started the whole thing for me going down this road is my brake pedal does not come all the way back up
You have to lift it up to get the last little bit of brakes to release and brake lights to go off
I have changed everything from wheel cylinders to flex lines and now master cylinder
( yes all the air has been bled out of the lines )

So now the only thing left it could be is my booster is on the way out so ....

Nobody seems to sell boosters they just want to rebuild your old one and send it back to you
Not wanting to be dead in the water for who knows how long while I send my booster in for rebuild
I thought I would try an old one I have in my spare parts pile
Not looking forward to getting up under the dash to get the 4 nuts off I thought I might just check inside the one I have to see if any holes in it

Got it all apart and other than some crud it look ok to just clean up and put back together  :2thumbs:
