For a long time, I didn't see any V-Code 4-speed birds for sale.  Then in the last 3 months or so, between Mecum, E-Bay, and other auction sites, I've see at least 10 pop up with prices ranging from $135K to north of 200K.  Didn't they only make 380 of these?  So unusual to see so many for sale in such a short period of time.  Makes me wonder if investors and dealers are expecting a downturn and dumping them on the market.

Total V code somewhere around 720.

Something tells me this car will be a total mess on an in person inspection.

Yes, but how many V-Codes were 4-speeds?

One never knows until it's seen with one's own eyes, some owners can make a real mess trying to fix small issues, obviously this car has had a "repaint/touch up" at some point, biggest concern would be how is the inside of the nose cone/lower valance area and internal components?, as Superbirds have a tendency to rot from the inside out thru the lower cone/valance area, and this bird looks like it's exhibiting those traits, it's obviously going to need a restoration, unless the new owner likes driving it "as is"? it appears to be all there pretty much, but a little steep in the price seeing how much work it could/might need...

To answer the OP's question.

Yes. When the "R" word is mentioned, folks pull back.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Wow, the prices keep going up.  Granted this one is priced high based on condition.

If any one has a chance to get a better picture, I am curious about the air cleaner instruction decal.
There are several pictures but none close enough to make out the print.
Thanks! MJ

Those are asking prices.  What is selling is much lower.  A v-code 4-speed B5  bird sold lask week on ebay for $136k.  I was at mecum in Harrisburg and a fully restored matching numbers V-code 4-speed bird hammered down for $155k.

a friend sold his matching # V code 4-speed orange bird for 350k at Scottsdale mecum 4 months ago or so. dana mecum bought it an said it was best hes ever seen. he turned around and resold for 430k,  ill bet ppl are looking at sold for prices and basing theirs on originality documentation and level of restoration. My two friends restored it one who worked for a riddler award shop and went nuts on the resto.

Based on your comments we're to assume the car was beautiful but over-restored?
