Before I start making one, is there already a timeline for the Superbird project?  First mention of the Plymouth aero car, Chrysler memos, 1920 List first/last car dates shown, pre-production car build dates, etc.

Please post links to any timelines out there.  I searched this site but didn't find anything after several minutes and keywords.  Thanks! SB Steve

Do you have superbird fleet engineering manual

I have collected many Aero Car items in the 1980 and 1990; most I see on the internet now.  Not sure about the Engineering manual: I bought everything Monroe / DSAC had for sale back in the day.  Thankfully so many items are on Internet because I wouldn't know which box in storage has this stuff - lol!

To make the timeline I would need to find the memos.  But do I need to do that?  As an example: the 1920 VIN list is available on the web all sorted, so maybe a time line is also already made and available?

BTW: unless someone used index cards to sort the 1920 list by VIN, I think I was one of the first 3 to do it.  I used Lotus 123 before there was MS Excel, so that is pre-1987.  1970 red Tona guy and Galen may have been before me.  Anyway...

My need for a timeline is more curiosity.  Such as was the "Region 1850" list published before they announced Petty Blue birds?  Hopefully a timeline is simply a mouse click away. - Thx

I agree: aerowarriors.com has tons of good stuff.  He (KEN NOFFSINGER) notes that a Time Line would be a potential future project.  So it appears no one has put together a time line yet, or did I miss finding it?

Ken has been busy with the Bill Wright - Woodward Garage Archives.  ( A ton of NEW info will be out shortly!)

That being said, perhaps you can get a timeline going?   I'm sure Ken wouldn't mind the help.    :2thumbs:

This morning I saw the ton of stuff already posted from Bill Wright's collection.  Very good stuff and will help make a detailed timeline.  I agree it would help take some work load off Ken.  Let me see what I can do over next few months.

The Wright stuff is race oriented.
I thought you were talking about production street cars. (??)   :shruggy:

My timeline was to be for the the "Superbird project".  Ending when all units were shipped to dealers (my tentative plan).  Start point for timeline was planned to be early memos where a Plymouth winged aero car was mentioned.   I may use the data from the 1920 list to show dates for the various "groups" of cars in transit.  Addressing individual VIN's is not my plan.

Until I spend time on examining what is in the Bill Wright collection, I don't know really what is there.  I spent less than an hour browsing.  Race stuff may help a little.  Not sure yet.  I would certainly list a few significant "race program" Superbird dates (pre 1970).  Right now I am happy to get input from anyone on where I can try looking for information.

Since no one has told me a detailed Superbird timeline exists, that's my current target / goal.  Like any project, the end goal may be changed based on what data I find.  Although intended to be Superbird only, I may expand to Daytons, C-500's, or  even with the 1964 "aero race car" I saw in some item I read.

My day job is priority now (hence I don't get on this site every day or make it to reunions).  Looking for the history of a few specific Superbirds is next priority.  But there is a window during next few months when I may have time to work on the Timeline.

Thanks and please keep those links and suggestions coming.  SB Steve
