1970 Charger that I'm working on...
I'm trying to fit my steering column back in the car to line up the rack and pinion steering shaft/knuckles it came with. And I can't remember how it bolted up to the under dash, I believe I was missing some bolts when I took it apart anyway.
Does anyone have some pictures that might help me out? Any advice would be amazing, and appreciated 👍

You have three cars in your signature, so which one are you wanting to know about?

Make model & year all matter at times.   ;)

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

1970 columns are a one year only deal.

There are some diagrams at https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/ServiceHighlights/1970PassengerCarHighlights11.shtml showing some of the specifics.

Mounting in the car is similar to the 1968 & 1969 cars though.

Not an easy place to get a good photo, but seeing one or three of what you are dealing with would help.

And.....

You mentioned rack & pinion, these cars did not come with that, so what has been modified exactly?

70 sublime

That stupid black bracket that bolts to the steering column that has the white blocks in it are different on different cars and years
Look the same but are different
I have grabbed the wrong one before and had the same troubles
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Yes, my car has the Reilly Motorsports alterktion kit. So it has a flaming river Foxbody rack and pinion now, and it came with a knuckle and steering shaft kit to attach to the stock column.
Here's a pic of the new K frame with the rack and pinion attached. I'll try to grab some more pics this weekend...

The white blocks on that black bracket are super deteriorated, and unable to grab the bolts that are going through it. I might just add bigger bolts and washers to compensate.

Anyone else struggle with removing this item after it has been in place for 50 years?

I applied PB blaster, heat, and use a air hammer... No movement.
