Interesting... Robert Goulet was one of the people rumored to have been original owner of a 1970 Daytona.  One of those cars was picked up February 1970.  I'm not saying anything about what is true or false: there is another thread or two for that - lol.

from above thread: "I even dug up a 1975 newsletter thought you might find some of this stuff interesting from back in the day of 1975 .Where it mentions Robert Goulet had recieved a daytona. That was prepared by the Alexander brothers in Detroit michigan "

Word was, has been for decades that Goulet had a total of 3 Daytonas in his procession at one time or another, one of which was a 1970 Charger R/T model in Daytona trim,  equipped as a B5, 440/6 4speed, with a sunroof, I saw the car many many decades ago in a magazine, definitely B5, vinyl roof, standard back window, I don't recall if the roof/interior were matching B5 or black, although the car did have the same front tubular bumper design that was on the 2 tone Green 1970 Daytona... :scratchchin:

Carl Burger Dodge is in/near San Diego.  They were sent car 388185.  (from http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,41312.0.html)

The auto show mentioned was in San Diego.  Recent years it starts around New Years day.  So the ad at top of this thread is talking about a local show from January 1970.  No way to know if the corporate owned show car Daytona was 1969 or 1970.

Steve Magnante's book says that Goulet owned a Daytona that went to Big Willie.  He also says Big Willie owned 2 Daytonas, 356523 or 356525, and he was not sure which was Goulet's.  However, I thought Willie owned 3 Daytona's.  There are other threads that talk about Big Willie's cars.

What engine did the Goulet Daytona have in it?  356523 and 356525 are both hemi's according to the registry.  The third Big Willie Daytona is 356535 and is a 440.

I'm not sure what motor was in the Goulet car the Steve Magnante book talks about.  Keep in mind that it is posted on web "Those close to actor Robert Goulet say he never owned any such car" referring to the 1970 Daytona.  It is a fact he owned at least two Stutz Backhawks (http://www.madle.org/egoulet.htm), so he liked "special" cars.  Maybe he liked the "special" 1969/1970 corporate owned Daytona so much, they gave it to him?

I searched internet for the 1970 car show mentioned in the ad above, but found nothing.  Would be nice if there were pictures of the Daytona and see if it was the 1969 440 Big Willie car or a 1970 body Daytona.

since the 440 Daytona was a late acquisition (1980s), if Robert Goulet owned one of the Big Willie Daytonas it would have been one of the HEMI cars "KING" or "QUEEN"

does anyone know the timeline of when Big Willie obtained the HEMI Daytonas?  there is a recently posted picture of him driving the unmodified V2 car at a drag racing event, anyone know the event and/or date?

what's the earliest publication with the American Racing / Big Willie / HEMI Daytona ad?  or filming of "Two Lane Blacktop"?

Did Goulet do commericals for chrysler? ?

I thought he had, but I found nothing after some mild web searching.  But I was only looking for "Dodge".  I thought Goulet did the 1976 (or was that 1975?) Daytona printed ad, but that I believe was Magnum PI, Tom Selleck.
