The first is a Super Bird that has the trunk lid open
Is that as far as a bird trunk lid will open ?

Also shows the VIN and fender tag numbers
Are both these cars known ?

Yes, they welded stops on all of them to restrict the arm movement. If you look closely you can see the welded plates above the trunk attach arms.  The lid wouldn't hit the wing anyhow.. but it would make it pretty awkward to grab it to close with the wing in the way.
