I have always liked the Buick Regals from the late 70's to when they quit making them, a friend of mine is a big time Regal fan and still has his 1979 Regal from just out of high school it  originally was a  Turbo V6 car but put in a proper 455 Buick and what a blast of a car to drive I could only imagine what a Hellcat motor would do.

I just think it's a difference in  USA and U.K. tastes in cars. You see quite a few 50, 60 and early 70 American cars here....after that you wont see hardly any (perhaps the odd one at a show). Compared to the beautiful lines of the earlier cars we just see the later ones as boxy clumsily designed cars compared to European Mercs and BMWs etc of the time. And is still pretty much the same. Since we stopped importing the Chrysler 300c to the UK (just after the shape changed...the earlier Bentley-esk (which was well liked) sold quite well.... then it went ugly....sales pretty much stopped over night) the only American cars we import now are Jeep (which are FIAT and built in Austria...even my old 2004 WJ Grand was built in Austria). Even current US cars are very "American" in taste...which is how it should be as most are sold there and not many exported.
Edit...we do import Mustangs....all other Ford models we can buy new are different to yours and built here.
Different strokes........

lot of work & time  , but why ?
dont know much about  GNX turbo  grandnationals , but  i think there is some big power to be had with the original style motor & turbo set up  like 800 - 1000 ++  hp  , seems crazy to do a hellcat motor swap when this power is available with the  V6 buick motor still each to their own

Ghoste

I just like it when people put Chrysler engines in GM products.

ACUDANUT

That's like putting lipstick on a pig.

The only 1980s-90s American cars uglier than those Buicks were . . . umm, almost all of them, actually.

I liked the 85 Monte Carlo's w/tops !!
