Anybody ever have a column shifter lock up? 1969 Charger

When i put the car away last fall for the winter it was fine.

Today i can't get it out of park. It will go down almost to the R in reverse but won't go into reverse, or anything else.

Is there something in the column that can break and jam it up?

Is the car on a hill?
If the transmission park rod is under tension, it will be hard to move. You might need someone to help you rock the car fore and aft to get it out of position.
If you're on flat ground, The linkage rods could be bent, they could have slop and not be operating properly.
