OK here's a weird one (seems most of my issues are) my Pax fender light has 2 (two) male wires (see photo) what's up with that? I only have one female plug??
Unfortunately my '72 factory manual has ZERO wire diagrams for the front or rear lights. closest I found is for a dart and it's a single prong
any Ideas?

Oh! also the horn...is it on pax side? I can't find the power wire for it!

Thx!

Definitelly one of them is not the fender turning light. Have you looked inside the wheel opening to confirm the light actually have both wires leaving the socket?

Do you have the correct 72 fender turn signal ? Or 73 and laters? Maybe you have one of those lates 70s assembly with dual wire? Wouldn't have sense either one socket having separated plugs into a pigtail, but more a single but dual connector. Some later models ( Cordobas, Aspens ) got this turning indicator with dual wires since they attach to the pot metal headlight/fender header so, for a better ground they are sourced straight from harness but I THINK those are as I mentioned is one plug dual terminal like the distributor. Not sure thought.

About horn wire... it should be a splice from the driver side conector and as far I recall run down the tape with the rest of the lights harness. Green wire with red trace.

Just found this pic

Which is dual wire socket so I was wrong they melt into a single connector with dual terminal. Maybe you have a lates 70s fender turning signal.

If so, you have 3 options.

-Get the correct 71/72 light
-Get the socket for the 73 and lates signal with single wire ( I think is available alone new, without bezel and lense )
-Ground one of the wires and plug the other one to the harness. Either one.

Copy all Nacho! thanks.
- Yup sure its 2 prong
- It's never worked, never bothered to fix it till now. Might be from a "Doba" or something. I'll ground one out, cheap easy no one will see
- driver side never worked either, no wires at all, have one on order

Hey Nacho while I have you do; you have a good schematic for the Horn and key buzzer? I THINK they use the same relay...which would account for them both not working lol. My repro manuals must have left out a BUNCH of diagrams.

Thanks in advance!

Nacho-RT74

do you mean something like this ?

( valid to 71/73 )

On diagram is shown the key in buzzer/horn along with the lights on buzzer, since both are related to the door ground switch

It mounts to the fuse block

if you have to buy anyway one, why not get the pair of sockets ?.

https://www.megapartsusa.com/proddetail.php?prod=183-FTSW73

OR if you know how to sold wires, you could cut the extra one on the passenger side and sold it on the driver side, and extend the other wire to ground ( same bezel selftapping screw will work ) on both sides.

the ones without ground wire gets a metallic insert on socket to the seltapping screw hole

Someone put the wrong socket on there. Possible it is a separate ground.
However I believe the ones with 2 wires are for later models that the side marker flashed. You could still use it, just tape up one side.

Thanks Nacho!

- Huh? I was looking at PLUG, never thought about the fuse block! thanks!
- Darn wish I would have had that link a few days ago, just placed and order with mega parts!.... no biggie, I can make 'em work
- Thanks OZ king. we ALWAYS have to remember these things have had almost 1/2 a century to be molested so ANYTHING is possible

I think there is no american cars what got blinkering side markers on the 70s ???? maybe barelly on 80s ? not sure. Sidemarkers with blinkers maybe wouldn't make necessary the top fender signals thought.

this is how is the 73/76 signals are chassis grounded. The screw gets in touch with the brass insert too through the hole. Brass is part of the bulb terminal on that side of the socket

Just in case, be sure your ones doesn't have this ground brass insert since theorically should be wire sourced.

The bezel also makes pressure on the sides of the screw hole, just right where the brass insert is
