Hi,

I need to replace a bent strut rod on my 68 Charger. Is there a difference in length/diameter depending on model/engine size etc? I found a set of used rods not far from me but the guy selling them talked about different diameter so that got me thinking...  :shruggy:

I would just measure the length and diameter of yours and compare to the ones you want to buy. As for the different sizes, they could differ but the thicker ones are probably only in 440 & HEMI R/T cars. Thick ones would be a upgrade.

Length is the same for a b and e body. Stock a bodies are smaller diameter. Thr3ad pitch changed from course to fine somewhere. I cant recall offhand all of the differences. Aftermarket the rods for a b and e body are the same part number.
