What temp to you guys normally sit at once its warmed up? Mine loves 230.

I guess that nosecone stops alot of air circulation in traffic.

Comes down a bit once on the highway.

Speaking of driving I should get mine back today after a fairly long stay in the shop. Cant wait!  :icon_smile_big:

As long as I'm moving.. town or highway it sits right on the 190 Stat, but I have to run the heater full blast as I'm pulling into the shop or sometimes she'll pop the cap... but seeing it's original or close to it I could probably use a new one!

BTW.. I have the lower nose panel in front of the radiator removed...

OK. Good to know. Yes, ive considered taking that panel off too. There's alot of space behind the nosecone and you cant see in.
Seems like it'd make sense to add an electric fan to the front side of radiator and reverse the airflow direction on it. Once it comes back I'll see how it behaves. I live in a hot and humid climate down here so Summer will be interesting if it gets hot now.

I wonder if my temp gauge needs calibrating?

Could be,I've had these aftermarket gauges in the lower dash panel since I bought the car, temp gauge reads same as factory gauge. This was at idle in 85* weather two months ago.

running the wire to an aftermarket gauge might be good idea. Even if its just to check orig gauge is reading ok.

I originally had horrible overheating with my Daytona when I first got it (had 440 in it at the time). I eventually removed all the anti-freeze I could and poured nothing but distilled water and one bottle of water-wetter in the radiator.. It runs great now.... Even with the 426 Hemi I put in it......... I drive it all over the place. Of course, I don't see bumper-to-bumper Houston traffic much if at all... I have all original cooling components for the car..

I have a Moroso high volume thermostat and Milodon water pump with anticav plate. Factory recored radiator, original fixed 7-blade fan and all nose seals installed.  Car runs great at 180 Degrees so long as I'm moving.  Once I stop, temperate slowly creeps up to over 200.  I know the previous owner had a pusher fan installed and said there were no temperate issues.  So many factors can affect how hot a motor runs.

My radiator would do the same but was the original and was overdue for an upgrade so I had a local place keep the tank and sides and add it to a new 4 row core. Never had a problem again.

Never had any issues with overheating.until i changed  Pullys   and march sent me a race lower crank pully and it was overheat city when in traffic.   They sent me a small diameter race one.   Soon as i figured it out i put stock one back on and presto problem solved.
