Didn't realize old whale story was from 1970

I just looked at the news and saw a story from yesterday that said the 'blow up the whale in oregon was from Nov 1970'  

I have always loved the newscast and forgot about it.

I hope others find the optimism and newscasting as refreshing as I have.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
