Hello,

Can someone explain to me how all of the interior lights work? I dont really understand the circuitry. I have an aftermarket wiring harness, i have an interior light feed coming from the fuse box and a  dome light ground wire coming from the panel dimmer switch. i have none of the interior lights hooked up including the doors and dome lights. i have many little interior light A01 light package.
I am trying to figure out the electrical path from feed to ground attaching all of these interior wires!

All of the interior lights, except the instrument lights, are fed by the battery so they work with the ignition switch off. The individual lights get their ground through the door plunger switch and the light switch; time-delay lights have a timer that maintains power after the door switch signals closed. The dome and map light bulbs are the dual-contact type, one contact is hot all the time.

Do you have a factory wiring schematic? If not, you can download one from mymopar.com

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

dome light and console courtesy lights gets constant positive on the pink circuit coming from fuse box Batt side. That same source also feeds the glove box light

The door switches trigger ground/negative on/off through the yellow wire network. Dome light wheel doesn't actually control the interior lights but cluster related lights HOWEVER it gets a tab what when wheel is completelly turned on, grounds that tab on a separated circuit into the dome wheel assembly and closes the circuit to dome lights just like when opening a door.

The A01 interior light package also includes map light and ign key light controled by a timer relay. The map light is also constantly feeded by the same interior light constant positive source and gets two on/off grounds, one from the same doors circuit, and an extra mounted on switch grounded to chassis to individually turn on the map light without need to turn on the dome light ground circuitry

Ign key light works a bit diff, since the time delay relay will actually feed positive for the light and light is grounded, HOWEVER the relay itself is still activated by ground switch ( door or dome light ), just like the rest of the interior lighting circuit
