Well after roughly 40 years I purchased a EB5 Blue Superbird a few months ago. It is a 440-6bbl with an automatic transmission and bench seat. Although the car is pretty much a base bird, it is very special and dear to me as it was my best friends car since the early 80's and I had the privilege of driving this car often. Unfortunately my friend passed away a couple years ago and his family reached out to me about purchasing the car. I was extremely humbled when they approached me and we worked out a deal on the car. I am currently going through it mechanically, as it sat for several years. It is my intent to get it road worthy over the next few months and keep the body as is for now so as not to undo some of the cars history and personality.

Congratulations!!  That's a fantastic story.  I'm a firm believer of keeping the history of the car in tact.  Get it roadworthy and get it out there!!  Enjoy the ride and make some new memories with it!

Have a great day!!

A great story, indeed. It makes me want to track down the gorgeous B5 SB that I "gave away for peanuts" in 2000. Because everyone knows B5 blue and limelight are tied for the best colors on a Bird!

Beautiful looking automobile you have there, looks great in blue.
Sorry for the loss of your mate. I'm sure he'd be glad that you're the new caretaker.  :2thumbs:
Gotta love a '69

Nothing basic about B5 or a V-code. Glad to see it wound up where it needed to be.

Congratulations! That was nice that the family reached out to you, and I am glad you were able to work it out. Great Mopar you've got there!

Thanks for the congratulations all!

It was certainly a humbling experience that his family extended the offer to me.
That is why I am trying to preserve the cars personality, as a tribute and memory to my late friend.
We are planning to bring the car to the Talladega get together this October.

Sincerely Vic

Awesome Vic! My favorite color on a Superbird. And yeah, I would not say that is a basic bird, lol.
Sounds like the car went to the right caretaker ;)
Wish you all the best with it!
Hoping one day to finally be caretaker for one of these beautiful birds myself.

Maybe someone can help me find a good used RH (passenger side) lower control arm as it appears mine is bent.
