I can't stop buying these things....I bought this one last weekend. It came from the Greeley, CO area. The previous owner had a second get 426 hemi in it, which was mated to an A518 transmission via an Ultra Bell. He only drove it a few hundred miles with the 426 before He found and bought a real J code 4 speed 68 Charger locally...so he pulled the 426 engine from this car (for his J code) and I bought this Charger as a roller. It was originally a 383-2bbl car and has a nice broadcast sheet and fender tag. My first thought is to install a 6.4L along with the A518 and go have fun. It's got freshly rebuilt front suspension, late model front disc brakes, and a 742 cased 3.23 sure grip.

I got it rolled into the shop to meet its roommates. The burgundy charger is still out for floorpans and paint...it's getting full

What part of the world do you live in that you seem to keep coming across these nice solid cars ?

Do these cars find you or do you go looking for them ?

I'm just north of Wichita, Ks. Most of the nice solid cars come from Kansas (south of I-70); several have some from Texas/Oklahoma and now one from eastern Colorado. I look for them. Sometimes they do find me though.

I somehow overlooked the exhaust and transmission. Well bought, especially with the front end goodies.

Free beer if you're in the area again and it isn't an iron butt trip!

If your like me they sit and collect dirt and Mice (enclosed garage). How can you maintain them all and move them around, when there is no room.

That's not all there is,a 78 and 79 Little Red trucks,a 75 Dodge van,a 71 Cuda,70 and 71 Challenger convertibles,a 70 Road Runner convertible,a 66 Belvidere,a 96 Indy Ram,and a 69 AMX. More than I will ever get to in my lifetime!

Nice Charger, looks to be a very fine and solid example body-wise  :2thumbs:
That said,
could you provide even a "ballpark" price range ? that you felt was fair to acquire it as a roller in this market ?
IMO,
you seem to have obviously done some homework even finding it ? so you're probably a great resource for others still looking on what to expect monetarily ?
Only wimps wear Bowties !

this is how i never got anything done for 10 years!...buying too many cars!~

It's hard to define a reasonable range for everyone. So many junk chargers are selling for $10-20k. As solid, clean, and appealing/presentable as the car is, Buying it for anything less then 28k is a solid deal. I'm guessing an overseas buyer would pay $35k or more. Its more then I've ever paid for a charger but It's just fun/exciting to have a charger that is so solid and has such great appeal

I have friends that are going to insure that never happens, and I will be doing the same for them should they go first.

Nice, solid car.  :2thumbs:

I want the trailer hitch.   :yesnod:

Dang!!! Beat me to it. I was going to ask the same question. I also asked 70B5Cuda for his trailer hitch from his "'68 Charger Ribeye" thread which also has a tow hitch. Not only does the Chargers come a calling, ones with vintage tow hitches come too. :2thumbs:

Yeah. It is odd to find two solid chargers with tow hitches. Those vintage touches are just so cool.
