When painting Daytona (and probably Superbird) steel wheels, it is my understanding to not paint the back of the wheel and just let the paint come through the openings from the outside of the wheel. Is this correct?

Hubcap equipped cars had wheels painted black on the backside, body color on the front. No masking was used, so body color over spray through the holes is normal.

Full wheel cover equipped cars had black wheels, front and back.

Yes, I just paint the back black & then let any body color from front overspray in there. LEON.

Same rules apply for the spare in the trunk, all 5 steelies would match in appearance.
