Yesterday was a great sunny day to go out to drive the Charger, very happy, satrt key, ignition and engine starts fine, while putting on the belt, suddenly the gauges fuel, temp and oil pressure stop working, cluster voltage limiter fails. I turn off the car and disassemble the instrument panel  to check for a short circuit, none, the limiter definitely looks like it's dead.
Is the second voltage regulator electronic from Rt-Eng IVR 4 and I´m considering other options since it is somewhat expensive and  two failures for inexplicable reason is not what I like the most
I know about 7805 chip conversion but another options from electronics in SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supplies) which replicates the oem and IVR4 limiter but I am not very familiar with these products and I would like some opinion about it

I've wondered if the 5V usb chargers for cars would work?  :scratchchin: Sounds like something may be shorting PSB out for that to fail though?

These guys have one that looks stock but has upgraded digital internals. Their website hasn't been updated in a couple of years and they only show stuff through Facebook... dumb.  https://www.facebook.com/redlinegw
You can find their phone number someplace there though.

They're actually all over the place. And they ain't cheap. But they are way better than the old mechanical stock units.
I've been running one for years... very reliable and consistent.

Nope, I did not find any short and I tried the old factory regulator and it works perfectly but the problem is that the gauges are unprotected in case of limiter failure for that reason I change to the electronic

Rt-eng limiter looks like 5 years lifespam, 50$ plus 30$ shipping to my country, two units installed and fail for no apparent reason, definitely no reliable for me
