1970 Chargers taillight lenses.... Reflector or not?

I thought that all 1970 Chargers came with the reflectors in the lenses. I thought that my red '70 has them but my Jigsaw Charger does not.
Both are December 1969 builds.

Classic industries sells lenses with and without the reflector but claim that ONLY cars built on and after January 1st 1970 had the reflectors.

It is possible that the lenses in my red car had been replaced at some time.
The regular lenses are listed under $250 for the pair and IN stock. The reflector lenses are over $400 and coming soon.
I like having the reflectors in the lenses.

Is it true what they claim about the reflectors?

I found a few pictures online and it seems that the ones with reflectors look a bit different than mine.

It has been told the reflector feature was included along the 70 production. Can't tell exactly when.

What I have read, they had to be in cars built on and after January 1st 1970.
I thought my car had the reflectors. I looked closer and see that mine do NOT. I have a pair in the attic that do have them and it was immediately obvious the difference.

Maybe it was about stock at assembly plant! Same plant for both?

All 1970 Chargers were built in St Louis.
There were a few regulations that came along for 1970. The reflector changes are one I didn't know about until recently. Bumpers, locking ignitions, emissions, other stuff was mandated as well.

My 70 was built in September without reflectors.  My understanding as they were not required until 1-1-70.
My first Charger was a Stock Car.

Reflectors were Federal mandated so not done till start of new law.

I think you are right on that date. I know it was a mid year change. My November build car does not have the reflectors.  :Twocents:
