I took the Charger out this past weekend. It has been very hot down here in Mississippi. Climbed to up around 70 and all of a sudden it felt like it was choking for fuel. I backed back off to 50 and it ran fine. Climb to 70 again, same thing. Initially thought vapor lock. Could it be a vapor lock at that speed? Did the general visual inspection and didn't see anything.

Do you have the vapor/fuel return line to the tank?
Possibly the pump itself or pump pushrod.

Maybe time for an electric pump, inexpensive and effective.

I second the pump / push rod inspection.

Doesn't not sound like vapour lock issue.

Any recent changes to the ignition and fuel system?

I had a similar issue a couple years ago that ended up being the rebuilt distributor I bought. Got to the point where I could get the engine to act up in the garage. change out to the old distributor with the same cap and rotor and all was good.

I have the return line to the tank. I am running the old school mechanical pump. Thanks for the input. I will look into the electric pumps. Any suggestions?
