I have a 69 RT Charger with the A36 axle package, 8 ¾ HD Axle, 3.55:1 with suregrip.  The car was built in late January of 1969.  What I would like to know is what case would have come in the car, 489 or 742?  I have received conflicting information through the years and was hoping that someone could clear up the confusion.  I believe the 489 came out in 69, but was this the year or was it the model year of the car?  Unfortunately, I do not have the build sheet.

Thanks.

Mine is a 02/24/69 build and has a 489 case with a 2.76 gear and open carrier. Yours should be the 489 as well.
