Same build date as mine... hmmm...would be cool if my build sheet was in it  :icon_smile_big:
"An aggressive exterior with power to match was enough to pull in the performance boys-especially when abetted by a pair of pipes blaring out the back, and brawny red-sidewall rubber hitting the pavement."

"........the four speed box changes cogs with the precision of a sharp axe striking soft pine."

Thanks

Here are some better pics, the glass was fogged over, so they couldn't get a shot of the vin, but they wrote it down. In an old MCG, Govier said he has the buildsheet for it.

I hope their tetanus shots were up to date.

I saw it in person, that thing is shot. I'm not sure if there's one salvageable panel on it...I didn't look underneath but I think I can guess what it looks like...
1968 Charger R/T, matching numbers 440/727, black with green top and interior, currently getting restored by me

OMG...

Y2 yellow and and green guts, and I was worried about F8 green with black guts...DOH :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

Thanx for coming in.

If this wonderful Charger 500 is 'actually for sale', my UK Moparmate would love to 'take her on'... :pity: :pity: :pity:

Any leads greatly appreciated and accepted... :popcrn: :popcrn: :popcrn:

Kind of reminds me of, Bob Brown's UK Daytona. (yes its a REAL Daytona)... :eek2:

Back when Charger's (1980's), were either YELLOW or RED!

At least the rusty C-500 has matching wheels, but less paint though... :2thumbs:

This picture was taken when you could 'drag race' whilst folks ate 'Donuts and beer' without a BARRIER in between... :shruggy: :slap: :rotz:

(The two 'black-top' lanes are in the foreground) at an old WW2 airfield, we had loads of 'em???

Bob Brown is doing a return run back to the starting line for another ELEVEN second run. (aerodynamics at work methinks)?
Just think how much faster it would be with a nose-cone??? :coolgleamA:

Found this pic of the ONLY UK Daytona, with a nose!

Must be at the world famous Brooklands meet.

The world's first banked 'closed circuit' track...

But the Germans ruined it for us and started another stupid WAR!!! :slap: :rotz: :brickwall:

If I'm not mistaken, the yellow Daytona in the UK belongs to a member here on dc.com- "chubby53"

Hi Guys,

I got tired of asking Bob ''how much'' for the yellow Daytona, all through the 80's and 90's.

He never really understood about 'Mopar Lovers' like me and others in the UK!
So in the early 2000's I gave up and went looking for a C-500... :pity:

Then about 5 years ago, I go to see a Chevy/biker/hotrod guy in Horsham to buy some 426 hemi parts and he had bought her... :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:
So I asked him how he managed to buy the infamous UK Daytona from Bob Brown???

Chubby said '' it was easy, I just waved pound notes in front of him''...(who would have thought/)

Money talks, Mopar lovers walk...

Yep, he sold 'her' after about a month or two... :shruggy: :scratchchin: :slap:

Another wing picture at Brooklands UK.

You can really see the steepness of the concrete track here!

Plus you can also clearly see the weight of the HEMI in Pete's Daytona (Troy's), pressing on the side-wall of the front tyre... :coolgleamA:

Love the black wheels I have now, but there's something about those color-matched steelies as well........ That UK license plate still remains with the car, I have it hanging in my garage.....

Tyres need some letters though, especially on a NASCAR!

Which C500 sold for $15,500, xx29?

Rusty green or very-rusty yellow?

Fancy leaving a 'water-bottle' on the rear quarter!
Could have dented it... :2thumbs: :smilielol: :slap:

OMG a Charger 500 Drag car, how coolio... :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:

How did it get SO rusty?

My long time Moparmate realises that he has ''missed the boat'' for a Charger 500!

Rusty wreck Charger 500's are dearer than running and driving R/T's now... :horse:
