Figured this might be helpful to others.
I had quite the adventure installing the Borgeson P/N 800126 box and the coupler 036425 into my 68 Charger this weekend.

Luckily I had just pulled my 318 engine so getting to the box was very easy.
My problem was zero instructions with the kit on how to install the coupler properly.
So of course I had a few missteps along the way.
Ultimately I got it figured out and installed and must say, I am impressed with the overall kit.

I'll have to wait to drive it until my Hemi swap is completed, but will update once I do.

I wish I had that when I did mine.  Hope you enjoy the change to the Borgeson box as much as I have.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I'm using the modified factory coupler from Bergman for a no cut installation.  :2thumbs:

OP chose the U-Joint...what he called "The right way".
Seems to me, the right way is the hybrid coupler that allows the in-out movement that the stock coupler does.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Meanwhile it's been installed since last year and drives great.
Tighter handling/steering and overall much improved over what I removed.
Super happy with the entire kit.

Choose your own way and take it, enjoy the ride.
