So this happened July 3rd 2021..I was making a left turn and the car has a spool rear and I gunned it just way too much and car kept going strait into a fiberglass utility pole..Nobody was hurt except for my pride..I collected all the parts to replace, and figure i would start documenting the repair process here ..This forum has helped me for years and figure I will give back some hands on knowledge..I will try to document the rebuild as much as I can..I had the car for 36 years and figure if anyone will fix it its going to be me..I will post some tear down pics and what I had to do in the next few days..The Green Reaper will be back ,,Bigger,Badder, and Better..

I tried to attach pictures maybe I am doing something wrong..The pic is only 1.7 MB

Glad no injuries!

You got this! Time and money and it will be back!

Bummer, Spools are good for going straight & not turning. You may need a Frame Machine for some of that work? Good Luck. LEON.

Looks very similar to the damage on my 68. Both fenders look like the are still straight which is a bonus. My rad support needed to be replaced.

Don't think you could have hit it anymore straight in the middle than that

Was it night time when it happened ? Head light doors open

Yea it was dusk just getting dark..Was in a little hurry to get back to my garage after a long day of cruising around Philly..
Ok so here were the fun begins,,,Got the hood open after cutting the hood latch and secondary..I sawsalled the bumper brackets off and got that out of the way..unbolted the top gril support and cut out grill..took out headlight assembly...Both are suprisingly still intact with no damage to mechanical parts.had to cut the bottom of rad support out to get the rad out..the water pump siezed from the impact..I hooked up my jump pack and it fired right up...my next step is take valance off check frame  and start grinding spotwelding on the rad support..

Good luck with it.

The car looks totally fixable but I wouldn't go any farther without checking the frame dimensions.

 :P... sorry to see.

Last item to do on your checklist : Ditch the spool and install a sure grip.

Good luck.
