Original fuel tank straps, on my Jan 3 SBD 68 Charger appear to have been painted an off-white colour from the factory.  Tank had never been removed and no signs of any paint touch-up work.  Suggestions upon paint colour?

They've been off, as they came out the factory door in bare steel.

Mine were undercoated as with the tank. Don't know if they were factory or the previous owner slapped some on them.

Thanks for the response.  Did you recoat your fuel tank straps?  What paint did you use or just clean up and clear coat for a bare steel appearance?

I put stainless straps on my Bee during restoration. The Dart I blasted the OE's clean and coated them with T-9 to keep them from rusting.

Well....your location is Ontario, Canada - unless I mixed up two responses - and so too is mine therefore anything in Ontario is about as local as it gets.

Was stated as you don't show where you are from, so how are we to know?  :slap:

I forget who I got mine from.. and they were welded together backwards and I had to cut and TIG the keyed ends the correct way.

Nigel probably has or can get them.. he sells oem mild steel ones.. https://nationalmoparts.com/parts-catalogue?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flexible_flypageV1_WIDE.tpl&product_id=999&category_id=905
