What's up with the steering wheel? I've never seen one of those on a '70 Runner?

I don't think I have ever seen a steering wheel like that before, looks like it should be on a C body

That's one heck of a car.   I'm surprised it left Tim's museum.    The rim blow wheel was one it from day one.

Would you put it as the nicest unrestored Petty blue Superbird? I can't think of a nicer one, but we all know I don't track the Superbirds as much.

awesome news.

since this is not an A4 daytona is it safe to assume you bought two cars?

Thanks Wayne and Ernie. Did not buy the A4 daytona, thought it was too high. Petty unrestored bird more desirable to me.

Investment wise the Petty car will do better in the long run. If the silver car had not been repainted, it would have been the way to go.

Danny,
I know this car very well . Drove it a multitude of times back when Jim W. owned it.

IMO, if its not the nicest, its definitely in the top 2 or 3

Doors a bit off in color??  :shruggy:

Car was all original paint on the exterior when a buddy of mine had it . Ive driven that car dozens of times

Not many know, but parts of the engine compartment have been painted when Jim had it .
PS, Jim still has the original spare out of this car , He kept it for his Hemi Bird

It did NOT have the original tires on it when he had it

Same car,,,,,,,almost 30 years ago

Edit, as a side note. when Jim owned it the car was untitled and still on Manufactures MSO
So I assume at some point a subsequent owner actually titled the car ??? if so, Who ?

Although, I didnt know it at the time. With my future Mrs A

Great pictures, thank you. When the car gets up here i will be curious to see if includes ownership history. I trace back all of them and try to talk with all previous owners. Some of them are excited, but only 1 jerk in all the different cars past owners.

I keep detailed records of all discussions (and everything else) on all the cars. It will be important to someone some day, and i appreciate your remembrance of this one. If you dont mind pm me if it is ok to call.
Thanks again
Bob
