Considering the show quality repaint, added detailing and column shift auto, very well sold. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good car.
As we know, this was just one of many cars that brought a number that makes you wonder if exuberant buyers were doing rails with hundred dollar bills at the bidders bar.

Yes there were a lot of extremely eye-popping prices. Some of these cars seem like they brought about double what you would expect at any other auction.

These pics were taken in 1985 at the St Augustine Fla dealership when it had 5900 miles. Engine photo shows a lot of cleaning and detailing has happened.

It is a small tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner housing to prevent icing of the carbs in cold weather operations. It plumbs hot air into the air cleaner housing.

This is definitely a very nice car but it is not a time capsule. It leans towards a restored car.

Nose painted by 1985. Check out the interest rate.

Not totally understanding how BJ allows the term "survivor" when it's been repainted.......... Correct me if I'm wrong, it was repainted??
Confused on the floor pan too.... Shows signs of the sound deadening but also floor pans surfaces in the front without it.... Maybe a Superbird production quirk?
Man, they made quite a few column bench autos equipped with a hemi...

the car is a frequent flyer at BJ with this being its third time there. can't wait to see what it brings on its next trip. I'm guessing about half of what it just sold for

A million? I could buy a Daytona, Superbird, maybe a Hemicuda and still have enough left to build a nice garage for them.

Hi Folks, 03 February 2003
Now that a Plymouth Super Bird sold for $990K, Bob's Hemi Daytona has to be worth at least $2 mil.
Best Always

Hi 69hemidaytona, 03 February 2022 Don't know, can't see anything other than a shot of the tail. May be due to our old browser and it may be a bad link. We have no idea what all that car is. From what we know of Bob's Daytona it is extremely rare in that it is original and unrestored. We had it for 48 years, drove it for 3 and stored it for 45, 41 of which was in Southlake Texas. Few knew of its existence and even fewer ever saw it. We agreed to sell it to Bob because we knew he would give it a good home, would take loving care of it and wouldn't sell or flip it. We liked him and Dena made the decision that he was the person we wanted to have our Hemi Daytona. We have another computer that is newer so we will give it a try. Hopefully we can see more than we have. We will post what we find. We are busy trying to finalize which Hemi crate engine we are going to order and who is going to repair the original 68 Hemi and the 69 440 Six Pack that was screwed up by the factory and secondly by the dealer's Warranty mechanic. What a Quack he was; another story for another time. Take Care. Best Always 426 Hemi Chicks
