I own a 1974 Dodge Charger SE, Ive had it since 1977. I noticed the other night that the electronic ignition box on the left side of the firewall above the coolant hoses seems to be leaking a sticky clear substance. I most likely need to replace it before it quits on me unexpectedly. What is a good replacement for it? and from where, I don't want to go msd. whats your experience or suggestions??

Keep it as far keeps working. The leak is the backing seal melting. Sometimes is due the heat, sometimes because the epoxy itself getting old, but as far your car keeps starting up and running don't replace it.

Carry a spare.  DAMHIK!

Regulator too depending...
I run a mopar black msd 6al under the battery tray next to vacuum pump.  Still run the factory mopar date coded black box on firewall for looks.

Big Block or Small block? 4 pin or 5 pin?
I would suggest the following. If you want the original black look you can always spray paint it and buy another sticker for the top.
