Took Christine out today

I Took Christine out today first time in a year. Went to put fresh gas in her. I went to put my receipt in the console as always. I found prier receipts from past fill ups. Almost always the same amount of fuel each year. But funny (or not so funny) how things change year to year. 2015 9.1 gal. 3.27 per gal. , 2020 10.5 gal. 2.65 a gal. , 2021 10.5 gal. 3.99 a gal. , 2022 13.5 gal. 4.56 a gal.  I couldn't find any from other years but just had to laugh. At least she ran as good as it could. And even with the increase I plan or driving her more than ever. I have just let them all sit for way too long!

There is a huge reason we call her Christine! When it was being built for no apparent reason it jumped off the rotisserie. Luckily I had steel saw horses under it. Then it was on a trailer and I was unchaining it as it was warming up and it went into reverse and drug me 60 feet and went through a brick building backwards. 10000.00 damage to the building and about 8000.00 to the car. After a bunch of wonderful people helped me with hard to find parts I rebuilt it again. A year later it was started in my shop and I went to gas it up. I came home backed it into the shop and shut it off and it kept running as if I hadn't shut it off. I pulled the coil wire. Checked everything out and started it and it wouldn't shut off again. I unplugged the coil again and looked it over finding nothing. Hooked it all back up and to this day it has never done that again. It runs great and it has now been a long time since and has never given us another problem. It can sit all winter in my heated shop and start right up and go. Love this car and this kind of stuff cant be made up lol. There are a few people on this site that know the car.

Dreamcatcher, I'd be quite hesitant to drive her at all, since the car seems to have a mind of its own! Scary.

  My wife is afraid of the car    Me I don't believe in superstition. How ever this car has done some strange things. I love to drive it! It sounds great and is a power house.

I think about that all the time! I remember everyone who helped me out! At that time I was so ready to quit. And a bunch of great car guys talked me into going forward. This car was a tribute and I had already put 55000.00 into it. But I am thankful I brought it back.
I also forgot to mention that I had paid for the nose and wing and Katrina happened and the parts were lost in Houston for over 6 months. My wife said that was the start of the bad karma lol.

yup thats it .  My brothers first car was white  with gold strip  he was 7 1/2 years older them me and the reason im into mopars , glad to see it lives on in your bird

Beautiful day here again today. We put another 50+ miles on the bird. Went to the wineries we have here. Lots of fun. Christine ran great! And the wine wasn't bad either.  Stopped at a motorcycle shop I go to once in a while. There restoring a Knuckle head bike in there that is amazing! Something in the 50's. The Black Hills are amazing this time of year!

I would love to see a bigger picture of your Charger. I love the color! Yes it was a good day the car is so fun. The smiles per gallon are great. I meet a lot of people when we take it out. I had a guy follow us till we stopped just to talk wing cars. Proud to say we have already drove the car more miles this year than in the last two years. And just getting started. I will be driving them all this year! I cant wait to get the Charger out. I have it scheduled for exhaust. I want to see how that solid lifter 426 six pack runs!

I have a friend in Cali who owns an original sixpack Superbird.
He promised me a trip out and 'and a drive' back in 2004 and every year afterwards?




It never happened and probably never will, very sad for him and ME!!!

I too have a Christina story about a Dodge!
Not a Bird but a Dodge Aspen, but nothing like as bad as your She-Devil lol...
