Sure looks and sounds (reads) like it.  He does work with Barrett Jackson, so that part tracks as well.

Follow Hoovie, he said he was going to put it up for sale soon at BJ.
As noted he has a relationship with them.

Wish he would have changed those god awful wheels though  :eek2:

the car will be a repeat offender at B-J, having previously been at Scottsdale in 2010

Hi Ernie,                07 October 2022

That's a Super Bird we wouldn't mind having. Vinyl roof gone; that stuff messed up the looks of the Super Bird . . . . and every other car that sported it. It was only there to cover up crappy workmanship by Creative. Can almost pass for a Daytona. Fine looking Wing Car and the right color.

Recent threads on the car show that a lot of what is known about the car's history will conveniently be left out of the conversation at B-J.
Major repair work and/or panel replacement is one thing but the line is crossed when the numbers are simply taken from one car and transferred to another.
Misrepresentation by omission should be a crime and BJ is complicit.

Creative did NOT do the Superbirds...they were done at Chrysler and shipped to Clairpointe for final assembly

(but, you already knew that)

Here's the info I posted before. LEON.

Chrysler management decided to have Lynch Road build running, completed SuperBirds, minus the wing and the nose cone assemblies. The cars would then be transported to the nearby Clairpointe Pre-Production facility for completion. Most special SuperBird parts were to be supplied by the custom-specialty firm Creative Industries, which either made these parts or purchased them from outside vendor

Hi A383Wing, Golden-Arm,               08 October 2022

Sorry 383Wing, I did not know that; Golden-Arm is correct.

I am quite sure the Vinyl Top was to cover up sloppy/crappy filler work on the rear backlight plug, regardless of who applied it. If I am "rong" here: What other reason would there have been for that ugly (my opinion, which I am Constitutionally entitled to at the moment) crap being applied to the Super Bird's roof? Surely wasn't there to improve aerodynamics, and it sure didn't improve its looks.

I have had exactly one car in my life with a Vinyl roof only because it was bought used and the price couldn't be beat. It looked like crap when I bought it and as it and I grew older, we got uglier and uglier together. I shit-canned the car, a 76 Plymouth Furry "Saloon" that had 100+K miles on it. Ran like a top but, like me, it looked like hell. It did have a redeeming quality: The front passenger side floor board was rusted clean out, thanks to Ohio's liberal use of Sodium Chloride on its highways, which made disposing of beer cans while cruising down the highway a breeze.

Got 250 bucks for it at the junk yard. Hated to see it go, it drove nice and had great range. It had a 25.5 gal / 96.6 liter tank which gave it a 500 mile range on the highway.

This ain't no shit: Remember a trip from Fort Worth to Ohio many moons ago. The car drove well and tracked like it was on rails. Was on I40 out of Little Rock, no traffic so I set the cruise and climbed in the back seat and took a nap. Woke up in time to cross the Mississippi into Memphis well rested. Things have been fucked up ever since.

I hate vinyl top cars.
They ruin nice tarps.
But yet I own one, lol.

Miss my hard tops.

Hi Mike,              08 October 2022

You and me both.

This is the only part of my previous post that constitutes the "Sea Story" BS: ". . . . and took a nap. Woke up in time to cross the Mississippi into Memphis well rested."

Yes I did climb into the back seat to get something. There wasn't a car on either side of the highway and the distance across the median strip was about 500 feet. Only back there for a few seconds. Was probably about 42 and bullet proof. Couldn't do that again if I wanted to and can assure you I wouldn't want to.

Hi WINGIN IT,                08 October 2022

"Wish he would have changed those god awful wheels though"  :eek2:

Have seen "Worser." Will have to admit they don't help the car. When we get to the RR, it's going to have good looking disks so we are torn between slots or something that show off the disks. Not keen on spoke wheels. Not referring to the old wire spokes, they don't even belong on motorcycles. It's the thin aluminum spokes, if that's what they are called.

We had large slots on the Daytona, which we liked. But that was circa early 70's. They didn't show off the brakes. Guess when we get roun-to-it, we'll ask for advice here on the site.

They wanted me to push the cars off the auction block platform like last year. BJ drives the car up to the up-ramp then the Flat part of the auction block. Once there though, it gets pushed off.. No thank you for this year,  I was beat at the end if the 2 days, for minimal wage !!! Lol.  I do it for the the atmosphere.  Anywho, will be posted as security at the off ramp so people just don't wander up. It is was Mike Joy does his chatting about the car.
