Hi Folks,                 15 October 2022

Back to the subject of "Matching Numbers." Only one mention of original engine and transmission is in the write up for the Copper Hemi Daytona.

Is the lack of Matching Numbers being downplayed in an attempt to elicit higher bids from folks new to the "Sport?" Matching has been a major part of a car's desirability and worth it seems until recently when a car or two drew big bucks without "Matching." Don't know what's really going on.

They're also mentioning silly things you take for granted like hood pins, simulated scoops on the fenders. They are standard items. Personally think it's an attempt to cover up the lack of important items.

Kick my ass if I'm wrong.

This next MECUM Kissimmee event should tell the tale.

Funny thing is #'s matching means everything to some people & nothing to others. LEON.

As the years have gone by, I pay more and more attention to details.  SO not nit-pickin, well maybe a little.  One question I have is do Hemi Birds not have the little Hemi logo at the front of the door like others?   I don't see any on this car.

No....there's no way to tell from the outside if the 'Bird is a Hemi or not unless you look at the VIN. No outside badges or decals were applied for engine size

Hi Folks,             20 October 2022

If our memory is correct, all Hemi Cars cars came with 15 inch wheels, the oil pan was larger and hung down a bit lower and the K-Frame had a skid plate that was noticable.

Hope this helps.

incorrect.

1966 and 67 hemi cars were 7.75-14 , 1966 was Blue stripe, 1967 was redline ,,,Part of me wants to think 67s were F70-14 instead of the 7.75-14
1968 and 69 were F70-15  could have been white line or redline
1970 hemi B bodies were F70-14 , RWL OR  white stripe with F60-15 RWL as optional tire
1970 / 71 hemi E bodies were F60-15  RWL only

not sure about Hemi Superbirds or the 71 and later hemi B bodies

I know the standard tire on a Bird was F70-14 but dont know how A hemi pkg changed that if at all on a Bird

Hi gtx6970,                21 October 2022

We stand corrected; two out of three ain't bad: Skid Plate; Large Oil Pan, and two additional Items: Orange Engine paint and Torque Boxes on rear spring forward attach point (or whatever it's called).

We know, there "MAY" be a couple examples with boxes (a 440) and without boxes (a Hemi). The Hemi without we have posted on and have doubts as to its authenticity as being a genuine Hemi Daytona.

1969 Super Bee Six Packs came with 15 inch black rims and F70 X 15 redline tires, chrome nuts in place of Dog Dish Caps, 4:10 Dana with auto or 4 spd. Don't know if there were exceptions. The same applied to the Plymouth Six Barrel cars.

All three of our Hemi cars came as stated.
