Daytona Wing brackets bolted through trunk mat?

So I'm doing some much needed detailing in the trunk of my Daytona.  I removed the wing brackets only to discover the factory brackets appear to be bolted directly through the trunk mat.  The remains of the mat are still stuck to the bottom of the bracket.  So that i reinstall correctly, can someone here confirm this is how Creative did it?  Also note the cheap fender washers that conformed to the shape of the trunk pan corrugations when nut was tightened.  Bolts that go through trunk pan had an "H" in the head like a water pump housing bolt.  The bolts that go through the brackets had very thin heads on them.  Not sure what the purpose of that was.  Could have been replaced by a previous owner but they look like they've never been touched.

Nice attention to detail Creative!

I am still blown away by them leaving the stock, ratty rear window channel in place.
I know, I know it's part of the strength/ structure of the car.
You'd think they could have finished it off somewhat for a more nicer appearance. Instead of... "Take this stock window out! Who cares what it looks like!"
They surely spent a lot of time making the plug look nice.

Were those braces cut out of the car ?

How did they bolt to the wing with no holes in them ?

The wing end of the brackets are boxed with mounting holes. They bolt to the wing and to the floor.
