Isi the red bird in the first row lowered to the ground?

It's not lowered.  I had to clean up the picture and went a little too far with the editing tool, I guess.  Actually that is three instamatic photos spliced together.

Hey Doug, question for you about that pictures.

Wing car in the front row all the way to the right, is that actually a Charger 500 with a nose cone and a wing? Just for some reason that idea pops to my head when I see that picture. Especially with it being silver.

No that is Joe Machado's Daytona.  Real deal car.  Greg Peck in Washington now owns it.  I think xx29 mentioned it earlier up the thread.  Joe drove the car to Huntsville from southern Cal in 75 and in 76.  As a matter of fact, that Daytona might have the most driven cross country trips as Joe used to take to Daytona for the 500.  I think its got over 200k on it.  It is gorgeous now.  R4 car.   Joe painted it silver and put the long ram manifolds on it with the 68 round marker lights.  That car is one of my two favorite street Daytonas of all time.  Radkes Petty Blue Hemi Daytona is the other.

Here is another photo of the Keith Black car from that 1975 meet.  I took this photo Sunday afternoon back at the hotel after the race was rained out.

Thanks for the update Doug. I just looked at it and for some reason the first thing to come to mind was the HEMI 500 that was painted Silver with a wing and a nose cone that I believe was owned by a Mr. Underwood back in that time frame of 75-79.

Thats silver 500 sounds like the old Ed Chappel car from Minnesota or NC .138602.It was a silver 500 .Done as a 69 daytona and was a original hemi 69 500

Yeah that is the one I was thinking of Dave, I just saw the car in the photo and that car came to mind.

I also live in the Fresno/Clovis area and I have only seen one Daytonna, and it is white with the red stripe.

I guess it could have been painted.   I have not seen it in awhile though.

Well, I went by where the daytonna used to sit, and it is gone.  Someone must have bought it.
