I was just down to Edmonton on a business trip, and I thought I'd drop in to Joey's Place once again to get an update on the 1969 Hemi 500 undergoing a complete restoration there.

As usual, I was given a personal walk through of the shop by none other than Joey hisself!
The Charger is looking far more complete than the last time I saw it, as the new quarter panels are on, and the majority of the problem sheetmetal has been replaced.
I was impressed to see that the quarters were butt-welded on, as they should be, and the rear window plug is solidly welded in, verses the small welds that were done by Creative. This will alieviate any possible paint cracking issues, which is something you definately would not want after a thorough restoration such as this.
The trunklid had a new vertical lip, as well there were new rocker panels installed.
The car had apparently been involved in a front-end collision at one time, as there were definate issues with the front shear panels, which are slated to be replaced with virgin sheet metal.
Altogether, it's nice to see this car being restored in this manner. Cudos to Joey and the staff at Joey's place!

I've forgotten now, but was this car a Canadian 500 or it's just being restored in Canada?

I believe it just being restored in Canada. As far as I know there was only 1 HEMI Canadian 500. It now resides in Alabama, and its a white car. This car was for sale on Ebay a few months back, painted lime green at that time if I'm not mistaken. Its also a pretty early 500 if I remember correctly. Some where around the 30th one built or so, it definately falls before the first 440 powered 500 built.

Both the 68 R/T and the Hemi 500 are in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, and are owned by the same gentleman.
