'69 Charger - Lower Control Arm - Questions

I have removed all of the suspension pieces from my '69 Charger R/T.  Looking over each piece, with full intentions of replacing all of the bushings, we noticed some play in the control arm pivot.

The questions:

1. Is there supposed to be any "play" in the control arm pivot?

With mine, I have the ability to give it just the slightest wiggle.

2. If I replace the bushing, will that eliminate the play?

3. Do the control arm pivots wear out?

4. Should they be replaced?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

My thoughts would be to simply replace it while it's apart.  Might as well.

Impressive photos with question.    Sorry I don't know answer though.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

I realize new (aftermarket) control arm pivots are available, if mine are not bent do they need replacing?  I don't mind spending the $60.00 USD for the pair of them from Just Suspension, but I don't want to spend it if I don't need to.  I will be putting in new rubber lower control arm bushings, my plan all along.

Advice please.

Also, both my struts rods have a slight bend in them.  Obviously they need to be replaced and I will stick with the HD steel rather than the aluminium ones.  I see Just Suspension has them for $100.00 USD for the pair, any ideas on other potential vendors?  Any one else here bought these strut rods from Just Suspension?

These wouldn't happen to be still available new would they?

Thanks again.

unless they somehow wore on the pivot point i dont see any nead to replace the pivots, as long as you can get yours cleaned up nicely. upper and lower ca bushings can be a pain to replace, but especialy the lowers where you have to get the orig bushing off of the pivot.

I just redid my front suspension and it too had some wobble as you describe.  It was not that bad and I noticed that the majority of the wobble was in the area of where the foot is that the torsion bar adjusting bolt makes contact with.  Once it was all installed back onto my car, there was no play in it.

Hope that sets your mind at ease   ;D

Shakey, I don't know much about the suspensions, but I am redoing mine too. in the photo, the pivot stud looked like it is too far out, I thought or at least on my control arm the pivot stud is even / flush to the outer sleeve of the bushing. And I just got a pair of the HD strut from Just Suspension, and they are very nice, I think it's well worth the money. I just place a 2nd order with Just Suspenion on the pivot stud, but still waiting on them.
