Saw this Superbird at a local show and snapped off a few pics. The car is heavily customized with lotsa chrome. All the rear suspension pieces (leafs/shocks/shockmounts) and fuel tank are chromed out...even the d-60 is chrome  :P

The hood and decklid are sporting murals with the roadrunner theme. Not my taste, personally but the car is in great shape. It's a u-code 4 speed car originally that now has a 6-pack induction.

Definitely a '70s thing with the murals. Looks good on Chevy vans and all but not so good on cars IMO.

mikepmcs

maybe a nice 69 RR with those murals cause they are sweet but not on a bird. although i bet it draws some attention to the car.  easy fix though.  Nice ride!
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Great pics Ron! I could live with it especially being a 4-speed car. It wouldn't be my choice but I really don't mind some of these "back in the day" Car Craft specials.

It seems kind of strange to look at it now and realize that not so long ago that was a cutting edge look.

I love those M/T Valve covers! Especially when they are all polished up like that!  :2thumbs:

Thanks for the pics Ron.  :icon_smile_big:

nice to see something a bit different from all the restored ones
a lot of people think all rare cars should look the same these days

No 100% stock.

It's straight out of the early 80's on some things but that first pic to me appears as a restored car. The changes are minor stuff, its not like its tubbed but if it was mine those murals would get sanded off if possible.

That's right, no permanent damage.  I think we've all seen worse things done to a car and even though I'm not a big mural guy either, I kind of like seeing that 'Bird all done up that way.  It's so retro, it's refreshing. ;D

THATS YOUR OPINION , THATS COOL. YOU PROBABLY THINK BELL BOTTOMS  STILL LOOK COOL !

Steve P.

For sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion and of course I have my own. I like it!!  :yesnod:
I think it was done tastefully and without too much of any one thing. No HACK work and from what I can see there is nothing done that can't be UN-done if he were to sell it to a purist. I highly respect those that bring cars back to original condition and also those that have tasteful personality.

This BIRD gets many thumbs up in my book.  :2thumbs:

Only if it's the striped bellbottoms. :icon_smile_big:

That Bird gets a definate thumbs up from me. Its awsome.

I'll bet that Bird gets driven some too.

WilliesDaytona

I like the car, the only way it could be better is if it had some Fat (8s) and Skinny (4s) Cragars, or Keystones

69_500

I just like the fact that its unique. And there is always room for a car that isn't restored to OEM specs at a show in my book.

Uh-oh, apparently this is not an anomaly:     **Inactive Link Removed**

It would be a cold day in hell before I paint a Mustang and a Camaro on the side of my GTX.

Bull, it may be like the dog fighters painting the planes they have shot down on their sides!!  ;)

Or it's his personal collection.  The GTX is in that mural and I've seen a lot of people do that before.
