Idea from DKM69 dash and here's my take on it.

Take one old dash

Cut it up, make a back support and paint it fit some new gauges and LED's

Back shot,  new wiring near complete

WOW!!! THAT CAME OUT GREAT!!!!!!!!! what size gauges did u use??? cause i think mine are a lil bit too big (the little one's) to get them together in the stock holes.....

Relax lads  ;),
The gauges are 2 1/6'' for the small, 5'' monster and 3 3/8'' speedo.
I cut the pot metal frame with a hack saw, the 2 1/6'' gauges I shaved the edges off to squeeze them in

The gauges installed, you can see how tight the gauges are from the thumb screws/nuts touching each other

more of an idea to how little material is left between gauges.

I had to throw in my digital gauges to mix things up.

hey guys...
welll here is the start to my dash resto/modd!!! thanks trev!!! (yeamate)
i used a dremell tool to open up the little gauge holes & cut the back out of them... thank god i had a beat up old extra dash bezel to use as first try!!! lol  :brickwall: the second & my orig bezel came out MUCH better than the first test run!!! lol
i also used the dremmel to trim the lil inner circle trim on the inside of the big holes so that the big gauge trim filler i used would sit better & a lil more flush....
i just put them in quick to get a feel how they would look... i still have to shave/trim the sides of the small gauges so they will sit next to each other... just like trev stated... they are CLOSE!!!! hahaha
see if i can get some more work done on them tomorrow?!?!?

OK, with the autometer fuel gauge did you have to get a new sending unit as well?  Does the oil gauge work accurately with the factory (or replacement) sending unit?  If you needed new ones what did you use?  Ty very much for the pics.  I plan on doing the autometer swap in my 69 as well.

lisiecki1

You can buy 1 of 3 different fuel level gauge configurations with the autometer stuff; ford, gm, and mopar.  Oil pressure gauge should come with a supplied sending unit, however, I believe they also work with factory sending units.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.
