I've almost sold mine 3 separate times through the years, when I ran into financial problems. The funny thing was that back then (the last time being about 5 years ago), my ads went pretty much unanswered...which made the decision to keep it much easier.
Now that prices have gone crazy, it's made my decision to keep it even stronger, because I know it would take me too long to find a replacement.

So no, it ain't for sale. ;D

Oh & also, 5 years ago I hadn't tried listing it on eGouge...I'm glad I didn't.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

i'm holding on for as long as I can...

everytime i take it out someone asks "the question"..

friday dude in a LS 450 with spinners just about dropped his 40 once, and blurted out,.. "I'l give ya' 7 Gs forit right now"...
"that's a Challenger right?"..
five minutes later at the gas station, dude in a Durango starts screaming before the widow was even rolled down,.. "I'll give ya' 20! 30!!!"..

yeah, right...   ::)

In 1990 when i bought my '70 Six-pack Charger resto project for $1600 my loser EX father in law had a huge fight with me about me getting rid of it for a brand new Ford Escort. Now it's 2005 and a '90 Ford Escort is worth $550, and my factory V code hot rod could be bought for around $55,000. Every once in a while i see my loser ex father in law just to remind him what a jerk he really still is. :icon_smile_big:
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

I think $550 is being awfully kind to the old Escort....or was that $5.50?  :icon_smile_big:

Yeah, family members have beem harrasing me...kind of tired of it. I'll admit I've been offered a good sum for my car (it's still in pieces) and the $$ is tempting, but I want the CAR...not the money. Some things are worth more than money...however, if I had been offered double what I already have been, I would likely sell it then, but only if I knew of a back-up somewhere that I could buy and fix up and still make a little profit. :icon_smile_big:

The Mad Scientist

in the parking lot at OKCCC an older guy in a bran new caddy asked me if I'd like to trade my car for an 87 Nissan 300 something or other that wasn't running.

If he hadn't been so old I would have been ruder than I was.

I learned my lesson about selling cars that you like and own. Even if it's the "right" thing to do.

I sold my 74 satellite that I worked on as a teen and I wish I still had it.
I sold my 71 Road Runner that I bought from the orginal owner and sold it when I was getting married and I wish I still had it

Now I won't sell my Charger even if I need the money, If it gets to that point I'll just find a place to park and leave it alone till I can come up with the money to keep working on it.

Did have one guy who saw my Charger sitting in my garage and stopped and asked me to sell it but I wouldnt

this last winter when my car was in a thousand pieces in the body shop,i had a customer offer me 10k,and he would put it together!i sat down and thought long and hard about it,knowing i had the new baby coming, and my oldest ready to drive in a year.when i got right to it,i knew if i sold i would probably not get another car in the same shape and what i wanted for the money i had left over,so i turned him down.he came in to have his newer caravan inspected last week and asked me how the charger was coming along,so i walked him out to the rear of the parking lot and showed him-he damn near shit his pants!"i cant believe this is that same car"i had to show him all the restoration pics,he thought i had switched rides on him,and now he knows why i didnt sell-Andy

THE COLONEL

What is stupid money?   I used to say if somone offered me 20K it would be a tough decision.   I found myself making the same statement this weekend when my Buddy was offered 20K for his 73 Cuda survivor, only I said "if somone offered me 25K :yesnod:

That is what someone offered me for "The Colonel"  this past June.  $20,000 CASH!! :o  I too always said that if I was offered 20k for it, it would be gone.  I still have it.  It's amazing how our minds change.

i dont get told to sell my Chargers at all.  but i do get told to get that thing put back together so we can ride in it!!  my spouse is cool.... :yesnod:

Sad to say but we have succumbed to the urge to sell. Mostly because of my parents financial condition once my mothers health started failing and my fathers 4X bypass. They just cant let that kind of money just sit when medical bills are piling up. I used to think it was mine but my mother cleared that up for me.

What do you think it's worth? Numbers matching RT car. Q5

ChargerBill

From the pics it looks to be in good shape, but you'd have to give more info. If it is in close to #2 condition and original you could be looking at some serious change. I would ebay it...probably easily get up to $35K in no time...or more.

Hey ChargerBill, Thanks for the advice. I put up a WIW on the board. I hate to do that but I just dont know where the market is, especially with the inflated DOH cars on Ebay.

No. And mine is not nice at all. I usually get asked if it is for sale when I'm out in it, but I always say "no." Even if I sold it for a ton of money, it would cost a ton of money to get another, so why bother. At least I know everything that is wrong with mine.

Oh...and where would I put the new engine I'm putting together in the corner of the garage if I sold it???

SuBLimE 69

Whoa NYCMillE, thats was a hella of an offer to turn down !  That car is badass but I might have "cashed out" with that offer.  Mine isn't "FOR SALE" but I'll listem to offers all day long.  If someone threw 50K at me I'd catch it like a football.  I already know where to find clean a 69 R/T from a family freind so I'd just start over.

This ticket is only $69.00 ?  If I'd have known that I'd have been going FASTER !

No, mine is not for sale. When people ask if it is, I tell them that I will consider all ridiculous offers. That usually ends the conversation.

Highbanked Hauler

I have been asked a few times that is when I tell them I've had it since 1970 and you can't buy history.

ive already ben asked a few times in the less than 4 months ive owned mine, but when i bought it i made the desision that i will own this car untill i can no longer enjoy it. so either i will be old and withered, disabled , or dead when somebody drags it from my bleeding hands. the only way to possibly remove it from my posesion before then would be a trade for a 74 in nicer condition. a 74 was my first true love and even tho the 72 looks almost the same, as does the interior when i drive it. so far it just doesnt feel the same when i drive it...most likely i will get used to it before such a trade comes along.
last weekend one of my closest friends (a female who does not understand the car thing) asked my girlfriend whom she is just getting to know what she thought of "that piece of junk in the driveway??"
My girlfriend (a mopar chick whose family owns somewhere around 30 classic mopars) replyed "I LOVE that fukin car!!" i guess my friend didnt realise my girlfriends upbringing. her father ,who says he has 20(im guessing that he has more that her mom doesnt know about) says that they are his retirement plann "fawk 401k" i am guessing that he will re do them one at a time after he retires, and live off the money he sells them for. i never really asked his planns but thats how i would do it. what better way than to spend your golden years tinkering with an endless number of classic mopars??
