Looks great, interested in seeing how it turns out.  How much does it cost to do a rotisserie restoration like that on a regular 440 RT car?  All I know is that it is well beyond my abilities.  I doubt i'd be able to save up enough to have one done.  Just wish i had a lift or rotisserie here as I doubt it will ever get redone underneath while there is only 10 inches of clearance.

Its inspiring to see how it should be done.

The cost to restore a 440 Charger would be approximately the same as a Hemi Charger.
Which is why it's a lot more cost-effective to restore Hemi-powered anything.
You will probably make money on the deal when it comes time to sell.

Which is also why so many people are dropping Hemis into E-body convertibles, vs. leaving the 318, 340 or 383 in it's original place.

I agree... Friends have always felt they shouldn't be driving their nicely restored R/T's, but rather should drive the 318 cars....... Well, the repair cost on a fender let's say, isn't going to be any different from my hemi Charger to a 318 Charger.. It's the same fender........  I guess it's all relative on ho much on is willing to fork out for a restoration of a car.. Guess many feel they have to do a "Concourse" restoration on a hemi car and don't on a 318 car as it's more dispensible...

I came across these shots yesterday, and thought I'd post 'em, just to show how far they had to "dig down" to find something to build on.... :o

Looks like a good starting point. :)

That car should be incredible once it is completed. Looking forward to seeing it one of these days as well.

An update as of Friday, 9 March 07...fresh from the shop owner, Joey:
"Well we are starting the process, the bare metal areas have been isolated so
we can spray on a metal etch, sealer coat, and a coat of base.
We will come back on Monday and do the caulking, seam
sealers and texture coating. Then we will give the areas 2-3 more coats of
color. Then mask off the over sprayed area and clear coat the rest. The
exterior of quarter panels, roof and rockers will be done separate because
of problems that would be incurred with the look we want on the underside.
If this was a solid color such as others we have done that were say simply
red we could do them in single stage paint but because this color is only
mixable as a base coat / clear coat color we have to take extra steps".

I'm thinking it's looking great! ;D

Man, that's a thing of beauty! I can't even see a seam in the trunk pan, the rest looks flawless too.
I wish I could afford that guy. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Did you ever find a driveshaft for the car? And what was your other question about? The vacuum canisters right?

I know OF the owner of the car, I've sold some parts TO the owner of the car....but I personally don't know the dude!!
And I definately don't have a line of communication open to him.
If you'd like, I could pass the info along to the restoration shop in question.

Or...you can go here for a car the owner has for sale!

Ah sometimes I get 1 500 confused with another 500. There are quite a few that I know of that are being restored right now. I'm probably the one who has it confused with another car. I thought it was one that was painted lime green about a year ago right?

Yes, this car WAS lime green, from Quebec, Canada, sold on eBay to a fellow from British Columbia, Canada.

I went to Joey's today (Mar 15, 07) and this car has the under side, engine bay and trunk painted.  (green)  I've been told it will get it's exterior coat probably next week.  If I get a chance to take pics, I will post them.  I'm off to the Red Deer swap meet this Saturday to see what I can pick up for my 69.
