So that green car with no glass is the one in the picture with a home-made ModTop? I cant figure out how that car is connected. :-\

Yes.

If you read the whole thread, Matt (CHARGER PUNK) said he saw a beat up green 69 Daytona with a modtop at a car show a few years back. His pictures got destroyed and nobody believed him.

The pictures of the 'green car with no glass and a home-made ModTop" IS the car Matt saw at the show.

Sooo...are these two cars supposed to be the same one?
Because this one looks black to me...

...and this one looks green. :scope:

Or is it just my monitor? :shruggy: They both appear to possibly have very similar rust areas though, so I guess I could see it being my monitor...although the green one DID grow a passenger mirror & the daytona lettering is more buggered up.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Ghoste

Not to mention a wing, different tires and a door moulding.  The one looks like an old pic though which could help explain the color mismatch and a lot can happen to a car over the years.

WingCharger

So, does

=

?

Oh, and it looks like looks like somebody put truck tires on the back of the green one. :smilielol:

I don't count putting snow tires on a car driven in Canada as all that much of an oddity - heck, Jim M.'s survivor F5 Daytona purchased from Missouri had snow tires on it when he pulled it from it's 20+ year storage place.  These were "just cars" back then, and when you lived up north, that's just what you did to get around.

Oh, and it's the same car in both pictures.  The former owner of that F8 Daytona (Steve) had emailed that picture to me and a couple other people back when the SF Craigslist ad first came out.  He assured me that the car has always been F8, never black, as I asked him the same color question just to be safe.  Old pictures from the '70s & early 80s do darken up like that, so it's not all that unusual.

Brock Samson

So do we - or does anyone know the status of this car now?..
has it sold?.. it was $100,000 in the craigs list ad...   :shruggy:

I was looking at the photoshop of the ModTop Daytona, and I am actually starting to like it. :brickwall:

Now, where could I get trim... :scratchchin:

Trim and $100,000....  :yesnod:

The "greener" looking car is not the same car as the mod top. I have seen the mod top in person and it indeed is the real deal and is NOT a dealer installed top. It came factory and there is solid evidence and statements from workers at the dealer that saw the car come off the truck from the factory to the dealer. The original company that made the vinyl for all of the mod top cars has verified that this different pattern was designed by them and they still have swatches of it.
The car is presently in Ontario and is under going a full resto. By the way the paint is not black it is a very dark green and is factory.

The owner of it was over at my place a few weeks ago. The car is in the same shop as Doc, Disco and 2 other Daytona's are. Owner is a super good guy......a true Mopar crazy whack-job.....like the rest of us.

And......I have to agree, based on the evidence I saw with my own eyes, that this was not a dealer add-on.

M was telling me about it last weekend. Seems pretty convincing that it is legit. The material under the window clips was interesting.
