Will this other evidence be brought forward when the car is unveiled?

The owner of it was over at my place a few weeks ago. The car is in the same shop as Doc, Disco and 2 other Daytona's are. Owner is a super good guy......a true Mopar crazy whack-job.....like the rest of us.

And......I have to agree, based on the evidence I saw with my own eyes, that this was not a dealer add-on.

M was telling me about it last weekend. Seems pretty convincing that it is legit. The material under the window clips was interesting.

oh right , mod top material under the  moulding clips  :scratchchin:   so it was done properly , who ever done it  :yesnod:

Don't know - but I do know this. When I bought the other Vancouver SE years and years ago (665) I also bought a bunch of spare parts that were stolen off of this car (666)....like a nose, wing, decklid, rear glass, latch tray and some other stuff. I understand the stuff was stolen off the car when it was parked outside a body shop for months - if not years. At the time I didn't know what car they were from and I certainly didn't know the stuff was stolen off of it years before. When he was over at my place a few weeks ago he was like - wow, there's my decklid. there's my rear glass etc.  :icon_smile_big:  He has since replaced all that stuff.

That car sat at the body shop, outside in the elements right up against the chain link fence, for well over 5 years. I used to drive by it almost every day after work to see if it had moved and one day I noticed the wing was missing and the deck lid & rear window. I didn't know about the nose cone being gone until the day we all went to see it at an auction held to dispose of vehicles left behind by their owners. The 3 of us went together on the purchase and bought it for $1200 with only 1 other bidder interested. It sat for many more years in a carport. I gave up my share on the car, regrettably but I couldn't keep every Mopar I had. I can't wait to see the pictures of the finished product, my heart will be happy. I remember there was a car dealership plaque attached to the trunk lid and was sold by Johnston Motors in New Westminster, BC. The engine ran when we got it back to the garage and we drove it down the back lane just to see how it felt. It was sickening to not have a wing or nose or trunk lid. Just up the road from the old body shop I found a mint shape orange Daytona. I asked if it was for sale but the fellow said 10 grand. I didn't have that much money at the time but later found out he sold it for 5 grand! I was floored. It was a 440 automatic with a black interior. The car was brand new in every way and this was back in about 1977. Ah, the memories!
