What's the easiest way to strip the 73 plastic grille inserts?

The previous owner sprayed blue lacquer over the original paint on my 73 Charger and he also did it to the plastic grille inserts. It's a shame too, because the grille inserts are totally perfect with no cracks or missing corners. I tried stripping it with the aircraft remover and it only bubbles and comes off in flakes and it takes forever to remove any significant amount. I don't think they can be blasted. What's another way to strip them without damaging the plastic? I was thinking about trying the paint stripper again and using a gas powered pressure washer instead of the coin op carwash pressure washer, but I don't know if it will tear or break the plastic.
