This car bounced off a T bucket in a race and slid into a phone pole with the opposite tailpanel. The resulting damage sat for 30 or so years so it rusted up good in the creases. After attempting to push out the damage, I found there wasnt much thick metal left. During the surgery ,I braced up the trunk and remaining quarter for the flex. The tailight looks crooked, it's not bolted in, just lining up the holes in these shots.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Looks like a pretty tricky fix.  What are you using to weld it in? MIG?

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

What method did you use to cool the metal as you were working on it.  I'm just curious.
As I said previously, it looks great.
