Broadcast Sheets for C500 XX29J9B240758 & Daytona XX29L9B356519

As with most Charger 500 & Daytona cars modified by Creative Industries, my C500 and Daytona had the wrong broadcast sheets due to the mixing of the seat cushions during modification into the aero car configuration.

I have the original broadcast sheets to the following aero cars:

1969 Charger 500 - T5 Bronze colored with a 426 Hemi - VIN # XX29J9B240758

1969 Charger Daytona - R4 Red colored with a 440 Magnum - VIN # XX29L9B356519

I will provide the original broadcast sheets to the current legal owners only, and only after establishing proof of ownership!  I will provide the broadcast sheets free of charge, as I did with the broadcast sheets to a Hemi Challenger R/T and a Challenger T/A in 2006...

I looked in the spreadsheet I have for 500's and I do have the vin for the 500 as being listed as a known car. However I don't have any information on who owns it currently. Wish I could be of help. I would have loved to add the information on the car to the spreadsheet but that is up to you.

Funny, I have that Hemi car VIN in the registry, registered by the original owner.  He registered the car in hopes of finding it.
Before the holidays, someone emailed me saying they had the engine from that Hemi 500.....for the life of me I cant remember who ???

The orig owner's name was Jeffrey Shorter

Your and Danny's mention of the car possibly being known are the first I have gotten on the Hemi C500.  I did have a lead from Galen on the Daytona from the mid 1990s, but the trail has gone cold...  Maybe its time for another try at locating the cars.

And, I would like to locate the correct broadcast sheets for my C500 & Daytona as well...

Thanks for the input, let me know if you remember who had the engine or other leads come up.

So chris I take it that Jeff no longer owns the car, probably sold it years ago. I looked through my list of known blocks as well, and I didn't come up with anything. As in blocks that I know where they are, that aren't in the correct cars.
As far as information on the car goes, all that I have listed is the VIN, and exterior color to the car. That is all the information I had on it previously.

I still have these... free with PROOF of current ownership of either car...

Apparently Ryan Dedeaux in Michigan had the engine and b/c sheets from 240758 AND 224399, he also had engines and b/c sheets from a daytona and a superbird.  I think he and his brother used to race a 69 Hemi powered dart and had junked many hemi cars for the drivetrains since they were so abundant in the early 70's, unfortunately his brother passed away decades ago. He had informed one of the members here and also one of the winged clubs of these engines and even posted a b/c sheet for 414638 in the WW newsletter. In my conversations with him I had found that he even had a few things for my car but a member here put a bug in ryans ear that my car was a rebody and I had subsequently lost contact (my phone calls and emails were no longer returned) with Ryan when he aparantly moved to the carolinas and do not know if he still has them.

In keeping with this thread I have b/c sheet for 409030 and is free to owner of the car.

Powertrain was removed & Hemi carefully dis-assembled in 1975 with 31,000 miles on it including the New England Dragway passes it used to make.  I drove it maybe 150 miles in 40 years. It has been sitting in a garage since. I laughed when I saw the thread about someone having the engine to this car, I had to go downstairs & make sure it was still there.

Ditto for the second 69 500 I bought a few months later, an automatic Hemi (The 'GoldRush' SS/EA car) out of Boston.

I received a PM from SBird69 shortly before his first post here, but have been out-of-pocket for the last few days.  I still have the broadcast sheet, and my offer stands.  As an alternative to providing me with proof of current ownership to obtain the broadcast sheet, proof could be provided to the original owner (Jeff Shorter).   In his PM, Sbird69 seemed to want to maintain a low profile in the hobby.

Also, it was unclear as to whether he even wanted the broadcast sheet:

QuoteDon't know that I'm that interested in the build sheet as these cars are who I am and I'm certainly not interested in playing in the big restored muscle car merry-go-round with correctly placed chalk marks & stamps  and all that crap.
Nonetheless, thank you for your offer to return the build sheet as I am pleased there are others out there doing the right thing.

SBird69 - The documents that Jeff Shorter & I have are essential parts of your C500's history, and I hope that you decide to accept them and preserve them with the car...

BTW, your C500 might have my broadcast sheet for XX29L9B238071... have you checked?

I located & stopped at  Jeff's house a month ago for the first time since buying the car from him 40 years ago & I did speak with his wife. He had previously made efforts to contact me during the last 4 decades.

I own 2 Hemi 500's, 1 SuperBird, & 1 67 Fastback Cuda.  I am 2nd owner of all.
I had my second SuperBird stolen years ago & it has never returned although I know it has been 'resold' several times & is out there.  The Cuda was also stolen but I now have it back. But to retain the cars I still own you may understand why I choose to limit what I say.
