Where is it today.I don't want it, just curious if it still survives. I do not have the vin #

1969 Charger 500 . A4 silver with red interior . original 440 ,I thnk it was console auto. It was  severely damaged in the front , Story goes it hit a bridge abuctment at a high rate of speed, pushed the block into the firewall it hit so hard . The only way it was going to be fixed was clip it.
Car came out of the Indianaopolis area many years ago. A friend of mine bought it as a total then resold it a few years later,

It would have been missing the A-pillar trim, I took it off for safe keeping as someone had been trying to steel it, rounded out some screws .

69_500

Would that be a car that Dave Jones used to own? Or who had it when it was here in the Indy area? I am thinking back and can only recall a handful of 500's being around here in this area. The 2 my dad had, and a few that Dave Jones had. Other than that I'm drawing a blank.

i have heard the story on that A4 C500 , didn't the wreck happen in the late 70's    :popcrn:

Danny,
I don't know of DJ owned it or not. A friend of mine (Jim Walton) bought the car many years ago . It was already wrecked when he bought it. He kept it for a while but eventually sold it in basically the same condition as he bought it. I know he bought it out of indiana , and I remember he was told it was wrecked in the metro  Indy area. It caught my attention due the red interior, and heve never seen that  color combo on a aero car since. I have a customer with an A4  hemi 500 with blue interior though which is the only 500  I know of  in that color combo.

What other 500 did Dave Jones have besides the green hemi car, now in MI ?

nascarxx29

A4 silver car with blue interior.Might be this one that was changed from B5 to A4 silver. That had originally B5 blue interior

Doubt it, The one I refer to is in Jersey. I would be extremly surpised to find it's not a legit correct car knowing the current and not the one mentioned in the other post.

nascarxx29

I live in New Jersey and seen alot of 69 500s.Only that silver on blue car I can recall is that Texas car.You any pictures of this other one

No... The Texas car discussed in that thread has been painted the original blue again since the late 1980s.  The pictures that I have posted were taken in the early 1980s.

A4 with blue interior, and its a HEMI? Did he just purchase that car about 2 years ago? Or was he the one with it advertised about 2 years ago for sale? Not exactly my cup of tea on color combinations, but it doesn't look too bad really.

Dave Jones had a F8 green HEMI 500, and a R4 red one 440 car that I remember. My dad had the R4 red HEMI with vinyl top, and the Q5 car. Which if I'm not mistaken you had seen the Q5 car before hadn't you? I don't remember Jim Walton having any 500's, other than the yellow one that Rick Edwards has now? Or am I wrong on that? The one that is painted yellow but is supposed to be R6 red? Isn't that the car that Jim had with a nose cone on it at his property in the early 80's?

gtx6970

Rick Edwards owns the yellow (original R6 ) car as well as the bronze 4 spd car,and he still has his 6 pack bird he bought new.

Jim Walton used to own the yellow/R6 one and this wrecked silver with red interior car.
As well as 3 daytonas ,1 I bought,(long since sold ) 2nd is the 4.10 axle car mentioned elsewhere and a green 4 spd car (that had been painted black ) and about 5 or 6 birds at any given point in time, he still owns the limelight Hemi bird, and one 6 pack bird (it had a Hemi in when he bought it from Marvin Hughes and it was painted petty blue with no vinyl top )

I took the A-pillar trim off it, and gave it to Jim for safe keeping. at the time Jim didn't have any intentions to sell it or part it out, but he didn't want anyone stealing anything off of it either. AFAIK Jim still has the a-pillar trim   ( I assume )

Yep, A4 silver with  Blue interior Hemi car, with steelies . I don't remember what trans.

When  the current owner bought it I have no idea, I know he's had it at least 1 and half. I'm not comfortable giving out names or exact location without permission or I would give more details.

I remember the Q5 car well, and remember seeing the red /black vinyl top car as well ,,,a LOOOOOOOG time ago

nascarxx29

I dont know what coilor combo but Steve F in KY had a hemi 500

Correct he had the X9 car that was the AT on the column. However has since parted ways with that one, and moved on to a White 500.

NO problem at all, was just curious as to when the current owner bought the A4 car with blue interior. I just remember seeing it for sale about 2-3 years ago. I believe it was in MCG for sale.

One of these days I'm going to have to swing down to your neck of the country and hang out for the weekend. I know I talk to Rick Edwards quite often, maybe I'll make a weekend out of a trip to that area this summer.

barnfindcuda

just a thought here guys, could it be possible this is the same car i am looking for???? the car i have been searchin for was a c500 silver with red interior with a hemi auto on floor, i knew this car from sitting next to it about 4 feet away, every school day for a year.  in my earlier thread about the car i am looking for,it was thought to be stolen in the late 70's but was actually the early eighties, could this car be the same, stolen,  hemi gone replaced with a 440 and then wrecked in another part of the country?????? and actually be early 80's??  just my conspirousy theory! lol  good luck  dought it though, you guys seem to know this car pretty well

69_500

I would doubt it, as one had red interior, and the other has blue interior, and we know the VIN"s of each car.

Hello all, I am here due to finding this thread from a Google search. A posting on FB showing a picture of this car in 83 got me interested. The car still exists and has a restoration started. The owner does not want his name or location of the car revealed until the restoration is done. It is in the process of getting a new front clip. I would like to get any info available for this car to pass it on to the owner. The car is very rusty due to the wreck and having set outside since the wreck.
